Closing the loop: the landscapes of your memories - La Gazette #17

A Landscape That Feels Like Home

Hello friend,

By now, you’ve walked through your home. You’ve noticed which objects feel alive with memory—and which ones don’t. You’ve remembered a childhood keepsake, a piece of art you carried with you, or one you left behind. You’ve revived a place that shaped you, a moment that still glows quietly inside.

And maybe you’ve realized something: Your home doesn’t just need more things. It needs more you.

That’s where art comes in. Not as decoration, but as emotional architecture.

A painting can hold the feeling of summer holidays, the scent of sea air, the light that once danced on river stones. It can carry the memory of a place you loved—or a place you’ve never been but somehow recognize.

When I paint landscapes, I’m not just painting places. I’m painting feelings.

Many of my recent works are drawn from family holidays in New Zealand—but they might echo your own memories, too.

A beach you grew up nearby.

A bend in the river.

A hillside that felt like freedom.

Photos get buried in phones. But art stays visible.

It becomes part of your space, your rhythm, your story. So if something in you feels stirred—quietly seen, gently remembered— you’re always welcome to explore the paintings that hold those feelings, too.

Each one was created with care, rooted in story, and waiting to meet its home.
